On January 14, 2026, we had the privilege of hosting Nataliya Yarmolenko of Weltpartner for a community visit to the Aeta community of Lumibao, San Marcelino. The community visit allowed our partners to witness the water-system project’s tangible benefits for the community.

Nataliya Yarmolenko together with PREDA Fairtrade’s Roger Hermogino and Donard Angeles, was escorted by the local community leaders when they visited the newly installed and first water system at Lumibao. The water system project is just one of 11 other water system projects of the PREDA Fairtrade in 17 Aeta communities around Zambales.

The water system project will provide the Aeta community of Lumibao access to clean, reliable, and sustainable drinking water.

This visit emphasized that collaborations are more than just infrastructure—also about sharing visions and giving to the community. By integrating modern water technology, we aren’t just “fixing a problem”—we are supporting the long-term solution resilience of a community that acts as the primary steward of our natural watersheds.

Together with our partners at Weltpartner, no far-flung community is hard to reach, because we believe that access to clean drinking water is a human right. This project was made possible by the generosity from the people at Weltpartner.

END.
