Mr. DONARDO ANGELES,Producers Development of PREDA accompanied AFN Representative: CHOI YONGHOON & LEE SEUNGHEE and here are their INSIGHTS…………

It’s been almost 4 years since I’ve finished my intern volunteership in Preda Fairtrade.
Now I’ve turn into the different position in AFN as an import manager in charge of partnership with Producers.

My reminiscent trip to Preda this time reminded me that my effort to work in Fair Trade sector(though it’s trivial yet) contributes to support someone’s dreams to the better future not only for themselves but also their children in next generation.

Farmers have more than a nodding acquaintance with Preda in a sincere partnership unlike the other buyers. Farmers told me in the interviews in common that Preda fairtrade cares about our lives not only high qualified mangoes for their benefit.

And one of Aeta farmers’ daughter who are funded college scholarship and small allowance to buy educational materials every month by Preda told me bashfully but firmly, “After graduating college, I will be a teacher who can share my knowledge to Aeta illiterate children who are discriminated and voiceless in majority and support her parents devoting themselves to their children.

Not only Preda but also AFN as a authentic fairtrade organization will keep finding more ways to supporting economically marginalized small farmers more and more.

I was so happy in seeing Preda staff I’d missed.
Warmest regards to Preda staff, Boys, Girls and Farmers in the field.
I and AFN will always do our best to support them from afar but intimately. – LEE SEUNGHEE

The most memorable one is the faces of farmers’ children, Boys and Girls in Home for Boys and Home for Girls. How could I forget the moment when they talked about their dream,” I want to be a policeman, I want to be a singer.”..

I realized Fair Trade is like to help children have more various dreams to do. It was so valuable time to confirm my faith to change many things gradually through the sincere and continuous partnership with farmers based on the action called Fair Trade. It is happy that I can do worthwhile activities more in Korea for someone who dreams. – CHOI YONGHOON
